Ingredients:

3 kilos ground pork
3 tsp. salt
3 tsp. black pepper
2 tbsp. soy sauce
1/2 cup of brown sugar
4 tbsp. vinegar
1 can of green peas
1 1/2 cup of bell pepper
1 1/2 cup of chopped onions
1 1/2 cup of grated potatoes
1 1/2 cup of grated carrots
12pcs. eggs
1 can of meat loaf
1/2 kilo of hotdog
1/2 cup of raisins
1 cup of cheese
3/4 kilo of flour
3/4 kilo of pickles

Instructions:

  • In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients: ground pork, raisins, grated carrots, bell peppers, onions, eggs, pickle, soy sauce, hotdog, cheese, meat load, flour, brown sugar, vinegar, potatoes, salt, and ground black pepper. Mix well using your hands or a spoon.
  • Prepare a flat surface and place a sheet of aluminum foil on it. Spread the ground pork mixture onto the foil, shaping it into a circular octagon shape about 1/2 inch thick.
  • Carefully roll the ground pork mixture into a tight log using the foil. Twist the ends of the foil to secure the shape.
  • Steam the embutido by placing the wrapped log in a steamer basket or a deep pot with a steamer insert. Steam for about 2 hours or until the embutido is cooked through. You can check the doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center of the embutido. If it comes out clean, it’s done.
  • Once cooked, remove the embutido from the steamer and let it cool for a few minutes. Unwrap the foil and slice the embutido into rounds.
  • Serve the embutido slices hot or cold or you can even fried it. It goes well with steamed rice, spaghetti, or as a filling for sandwiches.

I hope you enjoy making and savoring the delicious Embutido! Whether you’re preparing it for a special occasion or simply enjoying it as a comforting meal, the flavors of this Filipino-style meatloaf are sure to delight your taste buds. Don’t forget to share it with family and friends to spread the joy of good food. Happy cooking and bon appétit!
